This monthly symposium is offered in partnership with MassABA and is designed for BCBAs currently practicing within the framework of local public school districts. Participants will discuss the unique challenges that Behavior Analysts face in developing quality behavioral programming for students with special needs in public school settings. Expert speakers will join group meetings periodically throughout the year to address relevant topics that BCBAs face in their districts. Participants will engage in group initiatives to help standardize the role of ABA practitioners in schools and streamline the delivery of ABA services. *The Behavior Analyst Certification Board (“BACB”) does not sponsor, approve, or endorse ACCEPT Education Collaborative, the materials, information, or sessions identified herein.

Anne Donovan has been serving as the Director of ACCEPT Education Collaborative’s School Consultation & Assessment Services for over 10 years. She has extensive experience working with public school districts and Collaboratives to develop a range of special education programs and services and provide professional development opportunities to build districts’ capacity to meet the needs of diverse student populations. Anne’s interests include special education program development and improvement based on systemic evaluation. She has presented at numerous conferences and workshops on a variety of topics in the field of Special Education, and she also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Bridgewater State University and Framingham State University where she teaches graduate level courses.
Earn: 18 Type II BACB CEUs for the entire series(2.0 CEUs per session attended)

Experienced Directors as well as Directors new to the role are welcome to join the group to work with colleagues in an active pursuit of collaborative professional development. Topics of discussion will be identified and facilitated by participants, with the goal of strengthening individual practice to benefit districts overall.

This Job-Alike Group will provide individuals in an Instructional Coaching role an opportunity to build a collaborative professional learning community. We will focus on student-centered coaching models, creating more effective partnerships with teachers, styles of communication, ways of tracking data, providing colleagues with feedback, and how to balance all of the demands of the role. The role of an Instructional Coach is a journey of supporting colleagues and continuously learning from each other so it is helpful to also have the opportunity to interact with others in job-alike conversations.

This Job-Alike Group will provide individuals in an Instructional Technology role an opportunity to build a collaborative professional learning community. The goal of this group is to learn from one another about best practices. Discussions may include: what it means to be a 21st century learner, online tools that support student choice and voice, strategies for increasing student engagement, the role AI has in education and how to support teachers, as well as member generated topics.

This Job-Alike Group will provide occupational therapy and physical therapy practitioners an opportunity to collaborate, network, share resources and ideas, learn, and problem solve together to build a community centered on improving/evolving school-based practice. Discussion topics will be identified by participants and framed in best practice with a focus on sharing effective strategies to address current practice challenges. This group will meet monthly for 10 months over the 23/24 school year. The facilitator will provide structure and support productive discussion ensuring alignment with professional practice standards, education laws, and best evidence-informed practice.
Dates & Times: Tuesdays, 2:45pm – 4:15pm; 9/12, 10/10, 11/14, 12/12/23; 1/9, 2/13, 3/12, 4/9, 5/14 & 6/11/24
Audience: K – 12 Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapists, Physical Therapy Assistants working in school settings.
Facilitator: Dr. Jan Hollenbeck, OT, OTD, OTR, FAOTA has over 30 years in public schools as an occupational therapist and special education administrator. She co-founded PASS, LLC, and shares her expertise in school practice, secondary transition, and leadership through professional development, consultation, and authoring. Dr. Hollenbeck is MAOT liaison to MA DESE, first author of the Guidelines for Provision of Occupational Therapy in Massachusetts Schools, and co-facilitator of the AOTA State Leaders in School Practice Community of Practice.

This Job-Alike Group is a community of peers, for Social Emotional Learning (SEL) leaders to lean on while moving SEL initiatives forward in their districts. Group participants will gather together (virtually) to examine current problems of practice with a collaborative, solution-focused mindset. The group members will share (and receive) resources and ongoing support to help them move the work forward. Specific meeting topics are generated by consensus from the group, with discussions framed within best practices and in alignment with DESE guidance (e.g. inclusive practices, diversity/ equity/ inclusion, MTSS). The group facilitator will provide structures to ensure a safe and engaging learning community for all participants.

After that time, there will be no refunds or billing adjustments, however, you may send a substitute if approved by your supervisor. Once the class begins Districts are responsible for the cost of the program regardless of attendance.
