11/15-16 DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills)

The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) workshop will be offered November 15-16. At this time, Dr. Parker will share the lastest revisions and updates with participants.

DIBELS is an outstanding, efficient, and practical assessment tool that is used to prevent reading failure for children in grades K-6. At this two day workshop,  you will learn to administer and score the DIBELS which will enable you to:

  • Identify children who are failing to acquire critical early literacy skills as soon as possible;
  • Intervene before a problem becomes pervasive to prevent children from falling behind their peers;
  • Assess the effectiveness of the interventions;
  • Monitor students progress;
  • Gain a better understanding of how to increase achievement outcomes for all students.

DIBELS is endorsed by the United States Department of Education as a scientifically based measurement tool for making a variety of education decisions. and, has been used by the Massachusetts Department of Education as a core assessment procedure within its Reading First Project.
