ACCEPT Center for Transition (ACT )
ACT is designed for high school students and young adults, this program provides the opportunityfor individuals to explore a variety of educational and occupational opportunities. They learn therealities of the workplace and develop technical skills and individual qualities that are requiredto succeed in the community. As a component of ACCEPT’s comprehensive vocational training continuum, ACT providessimulated job training and career exploration based on individual interests, aptitudes, andabilities as well as the realities of the job market. ACT also provides vocational assessments toidentify vocational preferences and potential. Transition Services Transition services are a coordinated set of activities that may include instruction, communityexperiences, employment opportunities, and the development of independent living skills.The goal is the successful transition from school to work or college. The process includesidentifying individual strengths in all domains and development of goals for next steps basedon these strengths. The focus of the goals is the successful preparation for and transitionto adult living.
